AI agent development

An agent is useful when the next step depends on information discovered during the task. We design the allowed actions and stopping conditions before adding autonomy.

Typical architecture

Explore scope and cost drivers
  1. 01

Authenticate the requester and establish a task-specific permission context.

  2. 02

Choose an allowed tool and validate its arguments outside the model.

  3. 03

Execute with a bounded step budget and preserve a record of intermediate decisions.

  4. 04

Require approval before irreversible actions and return a verifiable completion record.

What is AI agent development?

AI agent development is the engineering of software that uses a language model to choose among approved tools and complete a multi-step task. RESULTWARD builds task-specific agents with explicit permissions, step and spending limits, approval checkpoints and an inspectable record of every action.

What problem does AI agent development solve?

A request may require looking up a customer, checking an order and preparing a response. Hard-coded branches become difficult to maintain, while a general agent can take an expensive or unauthorized path.

When is AI agent development a useful investment?

Use an agent when a bounded sequence genuinely needs adaptive decisions. Prefer an ordinary workflow when the steps are already known; it is easier to test and operate.

What do you receive?

  • A task contract defining tools, spending limits, stop conditions and escalation paths.
  • Tool adapters with typed inputs, permission checks and replay-safe business actions.
  • Execution traces, adversarial test cases and an operator review interface.

How does the work progress?

  1. Prototype with read-only tools and measure how often intervention is required.
  2. Introduce write permissions individually, with rollback and an explicit owner.

What should you plan for integration?

Each tool must report partial failure and expose the actual resource identifier it changed. Do not let the agent infer success from a friendly API message.

Independent references

The risk to design around

Loops, conflicting tool results and prompt injection can consume resources or cause unsafe actions. A hard execution limit must work independently of the model.

Security and responsibility

Check authorization on every tool invocation. Never share a privileged service account across users without enforcing equivalent access rules in the adapter.
